CCIA’s DISE Committee Releases Report on Social Equity Programs

Dear Members,

The Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Equity Committee (DISE) of the California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA) is pleased to share its “California Cannabis Equity Accountability Report.” The report examines the health and success of local cannabis social equity programs that have received funding from the State pursuant to SB 1294 (Bradford, 2018), otherwise known as the California Cannabis Equity Act. This report is the collective effort of equity applicants, operators and advocates from across California.

The report includes a detailed breakdown of the funding, program criteria, and participation rates of the first seven jurisdictions that received grant funds, and offers recommendations on how equity programming may be strengthened on the local and state levels.

Special thanks to CCIA’s DISE Committee, Co-chairs Yvette McDowell and Mindy Galloway, and CCIA’s own Eddie Franco for preparing this report, which took place over the last ten months.

Warm Regards,

Lindsay Robinson, CCIA Executive Director
